Here's Gene Cernan putting on his flight gloves for a turn in the LLTV (Lunar Lander Training Vehicle) a dangerous contraption the astronauts termed "the Flying Bedstead." A jet engine pointed straight down provided thrust while small rockets providied "stability." Even the cool Armstrong barely got out alive, but the men who landed the real thing on the moon called the LLTV "invaluable." 8x10.
