President Kennedy presents Alan Shepard with the first Congressional Space Medal of Freedom in 1961, after his Mercury 3 flight. Historical Society COA.

This item was originally sold on QVC by Alan Shepard himself. Alan often had his secretary sign mail requests, but this edition of prints were signed by Shepard for the U.S. Historical Society, and is a standard by which other Shepard signatures are judged.

With an embroidered, 3" Mercury 3 mission patch. Double bevel, double-window mat. Outer mat is dusty blue suede. Inner mat is black. Photo is mounted with easy slip-in, slip-out acid-free plastic corners. Non-glare UV plexiglas.
