Showing Collins' unique sense of humor, here's one of his favorite fish launches from the Gemini launch pad. The snook was later replaced by a Titan II missile for manned flights.
Collins is happily retired after a stellar career as test pilot, astronaut, diplomat, author and first director of the National Air & Space Museum. He now fishes, paints and explores the wilderness around his South Florida home.
