Apollo 17 splashed down in calm seas almost on the deck of the carrier Ticonderoga. Ironically, The same ship was home to CM pilot Ron Evans only a few years before when flying sorties over North Vietnam, and now welcomed Apollos 16 & 17 back from the final two Apollo missions. Cernan has added "Home!"
