Frank Borman suiting up for his gutsy Apollo 8 first flight to the moon. NASA, under pressure from the Soviets, decided to send only the second manned Apollo flight aboard the first manned Saturn V moon rocket, straight to the moon during Christmas of 1968; winning the race to the moon on a flawless flight.
